Rehoming Courtesy Posts

Rehoming Community Animals through courtesy posts

Courtesy post animals are not under the care of Pet Helpers. These animals remain with their current owners, and Pet Helpers is not responsible for any aspect of their adoption. Any arrangements made for a courtesy post animal are strictly between the owner and the potential adopter. Pet Helpers assumes no liability—financial, medical, legal, or otherwise—related to the adoption of a courtesy post animal. It is the adopter’s responsibility to discuss the pet’s temperament, health, and history directly with the owner.

How Courtesy Posts Work

As part of our commitment to helping pets in need, Pet Helpers offers courtesy postings as a service to members of our community who are seeking to rehome their pets responsibly. In addition to sharing information about the pet, we may assist by networking with other rescues and providing resources to help find the best possible outcome for the animal.

To be eligible for a courtesy post, all of the following information must be provided:

  • Clear photos (at least four, including full body, front view, and face)
  • Video demonstrating interaction with other animals (for dogs, this must include interaction with a dog from outside their household)
  • Detailed pet information, including name, age, weight, spay/neuter status, vaccination status, compatibility with other animals and children, house-training status
  • A bio highlighting the pet’s personality
  • Owner’s name and contact information
  • Details on the ideal home, such as whether a fenced yard is required, suitability for homes with children or other pets, activity level and temperament preferences
  • Disclosure of any behavioral or medical concerns or warnings
  • Must live in the Tri-Country Area

Courtesy posts will be shared on our website and social media platforms. To help ensure a successful adoption, we may offer resources and tips for rehoming a pet. While this service is provided at no cost, donations to support our lifesaving programs are always appreciated.

Our goal is to provide a compassionate, responsible rehoming option for pets in need. Thank you for working with us to find loving homes for animals in our community.

Important Considerations

The potential adopter is solely responsible for gathering all necessary information about the animal and obtaining medical records from the pet’s owner.

We strongly recommend that owners create a simple adoption agreement with the adopter, outlining details such as:

  • The pet’s name, description, and adoption date.
  • A clause stating that if the adopter can no longer care for the pet, they must return them to the original owner.
  • Signatures from both parties.

Pet owners are responsible for thoroughly screening potential adopters to ensure it is a responsible and permanent match. Choosing the right home is vital to your pet’s well-being and future.

Our Courtesy Post Policy

Pet Helpers does not support breeding and will not post courtesy listings for breeders. Additionally, we do not allow the sale of animals through courtesy postings. No money should be exchanged for the adoption of a courtesy post animal. Selling an animal without a license is illegal, and we ask all adopters to report any such activity.

Meet the Pets Looking for Their Next Home

The pets listed below are part of our Courtesy Rehoming Program. These animals are not currently in the care of Pet Helpers — they are still living with their original families, who are seeking loving new homes for them.

All information provided has been submitted by the current pet owners. We have not evaluated these pets ourselves, so we encourage potential adopters to reach out to the listed caregivers directly to learn more about each animal’s personality, medical history, and unique needs.

By opening your heart and home to one of these pets, you’re helping keep animals out of shelters and supporting a compassionate rehoming solution.

Pet Bio

Zei is an energetic 6 month old male hound mix. He will keep you laughing and is a happy and sweet dog. He loves to explore parks and take rides in the car. He is crate trained and housebroken. He has never met a stranger as they say. He will greet you with a full 3 part wiggle which will no doubt brighten your day! He is full of energy and has a hard time settling except with a good chew stick. He does not chew furniture so no need to worry about that. He needs an active family with a large yard and would do well with another possibly older and more calm dog. Everyone loves Zei and so do we. He is just a bit larger (about 30-35 lbs) and more high energy than we can keep up with on a daily basis. We love him very much and only want Zei to go to a home that can offer a better situation for him than we can offer.
