Pet Helpers understands that families encounter situations in which they are unable to give their animal(s) the life they deserve. As a forever shelter, we do everything in our power to help these families re-home their animal(s).

Intake Policy

Pet Helpers keeps all pets until they are adopted. Therefore space is limited, and we cannot accept all animals. Animals are accepted on a space available basis or if a determination is made that the welfare of the animal is in jeopardy. You must make an appointment to bring your animal into Pet Helpers. Please email our Intake department and a Pet Helpers staff member will be in touch. Pet Helpers does not accept drop-offs. If you are returning an animal that was previously adopted from Pet Helpers, you must make an appointment for assessment to arrange the return.

Please email our Intake department and a Pet Helpers staff member will be in touch.  Submission of this email does not guarantee intake, but helps us conduct the most accurate assessment possible. A representative from Pet Helpers will call you upon review of the email to discuss the information in further detail.

Surrender Fees

There is a surrender fee to place animals in this shelter:

  • Fully Vetted (vaccinated, heartworm negative, FIV/FeLV tested, spayed/neutered): $100
  • Not Fully Vetted (unaltered): $200
  • Heartworm Positive: $300
  • Other Medical Condition(s): Fee TBD
  • Emergency Surrender (Less than 48 hours notice): Above Fee(s) plus $100
