Humane Education

The Humane Education programs at Pet Helpers are hands-on learning programs designed to both educate and inspire future Pet Helpers.  Encouraging our next generation to appreciate and care for animals helps us build a community with empathy, compassion and respect all living beings.  Check out the various ways you can incorporate these important milestones in your child’s education today.

Birthday Parties

Have an animal-loving kiddo with a birthday coming up? Celebrate their special day with the cutest guests around—puppies and kittens! Pet Helpers offers one-of-a-kind birthday parties filled with fun, furry friends, and unforgettable memories.

Kids C.A.R.E. Club

Join the Club! Get your animal-loving child involved in the Kids C.A.R.E. Club! Through fun, hands-on activities at the shelter, kids learn compassion, empathy, and the joy of helping animals.

Summer Camp

School might be out, but the learning (and fun!) never stops at our Summer Camp! With hands-on activities, games, and plenty of furry friends, your child will learn how to become a junior pet helper while having the best summer ever!

Furry Tales Program

Does your child love stories—or need a little reading practice? Bring their favorite book and come read to our furry friends! It’s a fun and cozy way to build reading skills while helping shelter animals feel loved and socialized.

Classroom Visits

Pet Helpers teams up with schools to bring fun and interactive humane education programs to students of all ages! Kids learn about caring for animals, meet real-life furry ambassadors, and discover how they can make a difference for pets in their community.

Pawsitive Messages

Looking for a purr-fect pen pal? Write a letter to one of our adoptable animals and they’ll send a tail-wagging or whisker-twitching reply right back! Whether it’s a silly story, a doodle, or a heartfelt message, our furry friends can’t wait to hear from you and share a bit about their lives at the shelter. Snail mail has never been this cute!
