Fur Ball Gala

Fur Ball Gala 2025: Once Upon A Rescue

Once upon a time, in the heart of Charleston, a community came together—not just for a night of elegance and celebration—but to write a new chapter for animals in need.

Prepare to be swept away into a storybook evening unlike any other. On Friday, October 10th, Pet Helpers invites you to experience the 21st Annual Fur Ball Gala — a night of magic, meaning, and magnificent memories. Held at the exquisite Hotel Bennett in the heart of Downtown Charleston, this year’s gala promises to be an unforgettable affair, inspired by the timeless theme Once Upon a Rescue.

As you step into a storybook garden blooming with charm and enchantment, you’ll know this is no ordinary night. It’s a night built for those who care deeply, give generously, and believe wholeheartedly in second chances. The theme Once Upon a Rescue reminds us that every animal waiting in a shelter is not at the end of their story — they’re at the beginning of a beautiful new one. And you have the power to turn the page.

The evening begins with signature cocktails and soft piano melodies by Charleston’s own Charles Miller, setting the tone for a night where magic meets meaning. As you mingle with fellow animal lovers, explore a lively silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind treasures — each bid helping to rewrite an animal’s story. Guests will also have the opportunity to receive a personalized silhouette portrait from renowned local artist Clay Rice, a timeless keepsake to commemorate the night. Enjoy a gourmet dinner accompanied by the elegant sounds of harpist Olivia Holmes of Palmetto Strings, followed by a thrilling live auction led by beloved emcee Erin Kienzle. With luxury vacations and exclusive experiences on the table, this is your chance to raise your paddle — and your impact.

Don’t miss your shot at a dream escape through our exclusive raffle. With only 250 tickets sold, one lucky guest will choose from five unforgettable destinations — Bali, Greece, Thailand, France, or Italy — and help make happily-ever-afters possible for animals in need. As the night winds down, we’ll toast to new beginnings with dancing, keepsakes, and memories that remind us all: you were part of something truly special.

Voted Charleston’s Choice for Best Lowcountry Event and Best Fundraising Event of 2024, the Fur Ball Gala has become the hallmark of elegance, generosity, and impact in the Lowcountry. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the legacy.

Why This Night Matters

Behind the ballgowns and candlelight lies a simple truth: it takes more than love to save a life — it takes resources.

Did you know that it costs Pet Helpers over $56 per day to care for each animal in our shelter? With an average of 125+ animals in our care at any given time, that adds up to more than $200,000 each month — just to provide food, shelter, medical care, enrichment, and love. And that doesn’t include the urgent, often critical cases we take in: animals hit by cars, suffering from abuse, neglect, or in need of emergency surgery.

The truth is, these animals don’t come with fairy godmothers. They come with broken bones, matted fur, and fearful hearts — and it’s up to us, together, to rewrite their story. That’s why this night matters. Every dollar raised through ticket sales, auctions, raffles, and donations directly supports the lifesaving work we do every single day.

When you raise your paddle, you’re not just bidding on a dream getaway — you’re helping fund an animal’s return to health. When you attend this gala, you’re not just dressed in black tie — you’re stepping into the role of rescuer, healer, and hero.

Your Chance to Win, Their Chance to Live Happily Ever After

This year’s Fur Ball Raffle is your passport to paradise — and your chance to change lives. With only 250 tickets available, your odds of winning are an extraordinary 1 in 250. One lucky winner will choose from five unforgettable journeys for two: bask on the serene beaches of Bali or Thailand, sip wine among the sun-drenched hills of Tuscany, wander the romantic streets of Paris, or sail through the iconic islands of Greece. This isn’t just a dream vacation — it’s a meaningful way to support animals in need. Every raffle ticket purchased helps provide life-saving care and second chances for the dogs and cats who rely on us. Paradise awaits… and so does the power to make a difference.
