The dogs and cats that enter the shelter at Pet Helpers can be strays, transfers from animal control/shelters, or animals that have to be surrendered because of unusual situations. Increasingly, dogs and cats are being transferred to us from open admission shelters that are full. In these cases, we have the opportunity to save the lives of healthy animals who would have otherwise been euthanized.
Our adoption counselors work closely with our animal care staff to make sure that they know every one of our adoptable animals and take the time to understand the needs of the potential adopters as well. For us at Pet Helpers, it is all about “the match”. After all, our goal is to make sure that the adoption is to the “right” family who will provide a FOREVER home.
